Pronounced “vare-in.” Varin has always been transcribed as the Titan of both mystery and misery. Legend states that Varin was sentenced to Tartarus by King Liris for 12 years due to his fascination with monstrous creatures which resulted in the deaths of thousands of gods, goddesses, humans, and even other Titans. It also proved to King Liris that Varin’s lack of emotions made him unfit to rule the planet of Corvus Corax.

The Ancient Book of Titans from the Pantheon Library states that Varin was brought out of Tartarus by Ragoraa and Kaios following their overthrow of King Liris with the negotiation that Varin would work directly for Ragoraa in creating any monster she wanted. When Varin came out of Tartarus he was entirely different — illustrations display him with blood-red eyes and blood-stained white masks which floated around him at all times.

Apparently, the masks allow Varin to summon certain monsters he’s created. Frighteningly, Cerberus wasn’t the only monster Varin constructed while he was in Tartarus. Even more terrifying than that, no one knows if Varin created those monsters for pleasure or if it was to protect him from something even he wouldn’t be able to defeat on his own.
